Photographer InReview

I work with some absolutely brilliant photographers, and these Photographer InReview are to help future brides get to know some of the best photographers in Brisbane a little better.  Here’s my latest photographers review on “Creative Photographics”, Ian Wharton’s responses to a few questions I asked…..

Creative Photographics

57210_130900743632414_130900460299109_153363_4379509_o Ian would be the first photographer that I ‘befriended’ over a decade ago, when I started specialising in Wedding Hair & Makeup.  Ian has over 25 years of experience and is a member of the PPAQ, WIPM, AAPP  and he is also a CPP (Certified Professional Photographer).  Ian shoots over 30-40 weddings are year, with his speciality being Weddings and Portraits, he also does lots of commercial/real estate shoots too. Ian’s style is best described as Casual, Relaxed, REAL...not over “photoshopped”, and what brides love about  Ian is his good nature, he gets on with everyone, plus he provides a great product, flexible packages and he always listen to what people want.

What do you love most about your work? Ian Creative2

Making people happy, nothing beats that feelings!

Why did you choose wedding photography as a career?

I loved the feeling of creating images that thrilled and excited people. From my younger days I was always the one at parties etc with the camera.  I was no good at art or drawing in school, and found photography gave me a creative outlet, and I was a natural at it!

What would you be doing if you weren't in the wedding industry?   Probably camping under a tree near a babbling creek! or in a sales role somewhere – close to a camping ground! 31248_451975744061_188765449061_6081595_7305401_n

Where do you seek your inspiration?

Life, outdoors, the character of light playing on a scene, plus the personalities of the couple......every couple is different…. that's what still makes weddings fun after 25 years!

Do you panic if the weather is bad?

NEVER...I LOVE rainy days!

What are some options/hints you have for bad weather?

Look for new and unusual locations where you wouldn't normally shoot.8231_190541739061_188765449061_4015549_3453503_n

Any hints/recommendations for future brides?

BOOK CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHICS !!! Seriously tho, talk to professionals you trust, look to them for recommendations for other services,  hair, make up, cars, DJ etc. And only Trust AND Book Professionals not your friends.

What is the longest or largest wedding you've shoot?   31248_451438639061_188765449061_6064325_1496764_n

Last year I did Indian Wedding started 8.30am Sunday morning, finished 10.30pm Monday Night. 450 guests, numerous outfit changes and more Indian food I have seen in my life! Back in the 90's I did a wedding for the Deen brothers ( You may remember the demolition company that Bjelke Peterson used to knock down classic buildings in the middle of the night, Cloudland, Festival Hall etc) They had a wedding at City Hall, 1500 guests....yes, One Thousand Five Hundred Guests!!!!!!!!!!
